Hello!!

Are you ready to start making Christmas cards or gift tags?
If you are looking for a jump start, maybe I can help.  I'll be teaching classes at both China Phoenix 2 and The Hen House Paperie in the next couple of weeks.  So here at the details.

This class of three cards will be offered at The Hen House on this coming Tuesday morning, November 27 at 10:30 a.m. or on Saturday, December 8 fr  om 2-4 pm. We will use dies from My Favorite Things and stamps from Hero Arts. Just for fun, I'll be bringing a variety of embellishments for the chevron card allowing you to keep it simple for mailing or kick it up with bling to attach to a gift or hand deliver!  I'm thinking plates of goodies for neighbors and friends ;D

Do you have some scraps of patterned paper or old Christmas patterned paper that you cant bear to toss?  Bring them and turn them into hexagons for fun cards and tags.  The possibilities are endless when you mixy and matchy. Come prepared to have some fun to "die" for.

Next is a class at China Phoenix 2 on Saturday morning, December 1 at 10:00 a.m. This class will use stamps from Hero Arts and several coloring techniques for making these poinsettias.  We will use Distress Stains, and Distress Ink Pads to get our desired results.  A spray of shine, some Liquid Pearls, watercolor paper...and you will have some Merry cards to add to your stash or actually use!!

You can call Nancy at 884-8217 if you would like to register for this class.

Thank you for hanging in with me through this long post and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Summer Rides......repeat class!

How cute is this sweet camper!!  Growing up, my parents, brother and I would go camping in a camper built by my grandfather that looked just like this!! There were only five feet in it from floor to ceiling, and as my brother and I got older, we soon couldn't stand straight up in it!  Just a step inside of it in the spring would confirm that we had grown since the fall's last camping trip.  So of course I fell in love with this Unity stamp the moment I saw it and knew I would have to use it in a class this summer.

Here are the other two cards we will make Saturday........

Aren't these images fun?? You can join me Saturday morning at the Hen House for this class!  I will teach you how to draw inspiration from some beautiful My Mind's Eye paper and how to use that inspiration and turn it into a card! We will be using Unity bike stamps and their adorable camper stamp to make a versatile set of cards. I hope to see you there!!

Faith and Flowers

I have a couple of cards to share with you!  The first card features the Fleurette stamp from Hero Arts and Crate Papers's gorgeous papers.  There is also a new Prima stamp that is a strip of three adorable tickets!!  I just had to use those too!  They just magically jumped onto the card and wouldn't get off.....sigh....do you see them peeking out at the bottom?

The next card uses the Unity stamp Move Mountains.  I love that verse and couldn't wait to get it incorporated into a card class.

The gorgeous papers are from Authentique, and the ink is Momento.
I love that both of these cards use handmade flowers, made using the Tim Holtz Tattered Pinecone die!

Not only does this die made beautiful pinecones, it makes dainty little flowers with just a few tweeks in your tecnique!  I can't wait to show you how to make these and practice them together so you can gain and leave with confidence, knowing that you can do these yourself!!  This class will be tecnique heavy so we are only making the two finished cards.  However, you will master those sweet flowers that are so on trend right now.

Class is scheduled at the Hen House Paperie for Next Saturday afternoon at 12:30.  We will Cinco de Mayo the early afternoon away, playing with paper, adhesive, Copics, and Vintage like goodness! You can either email me at krosecrans@comcast.net or call the Hen House at 221-6366 to reserve your spot in the Hen Coup.  Hope to see you there!!

It happened!!

Its been a good three months now that I've been walking to strengthen my back after surgery.  These are mostly daily walks that are 2-3 miles.  Friends have told me how I will love how the endorphins make me feel.....and I keep waiting and waiting, only feeling fatigue at the end of a walk and a sense of " I got another walk out of the way and lived to tell about it". And my back is happy.

Well that all changed for me on Wednesday's early evening walk. I noticed a new pep in my step, and a song in my heart....was this one of those endorphins they talk about that magically occur when you exercise?? I happily finished my walk, showered, felt even better, then got energized enough to design and stamp a card!  The Mojo was HOT!!  I sure hope this is a new trend for me and that tonight's walk will bring TWO endorphins my way;D

Here's the card I made after that walk.  Stamps are Unity and My Mind's Eye. Inks pads are Momento and Versafine black.  Toss in a few Copic markers to dot the flowers and that's it! Oh I want to go for a ride on THAT bike this evening!!

This is one of a set of three cards that will be taught at the Hen House Paperie in June called "Summer Rides". The first class will be Tuesday, May22 at !0:30am, and will be offered again Saturday morning, June 9 at 10:30!!  More pictures will be coming.  As always, you can sign up by emailing me at krosecrans@comcast.net or by calling the Hen House Paperie at 221-6366.

An Artistic Christmas

Join me this coming Saturday afternoon for a couple hours of fun as we make these three Holiday themed cards at The Hen House Paperie. We will use two stamp sets from Artistic Outpost to create this set of cards that features lots of distressing (bring your Walnut Distress Ink pad and foam applicator), optional sewing, and some of the new bakers twine from The Twinery.I will show you how to add an embossed edge to your cards and to a dry embossed image for a special touch! The paper flower is made using a new Spellbinders die. You will love making this flower....bring your tweezers or quilling tool.
Class will be Saturday the 19th from 3:00-4:30.  I hope to see you there!

Most of you have heard by now of the fire at China Phoenix 2 last Wednesday morning.  We are all so grateful that the shop kitty, Mr. Binx, survived and is expected to make a complete recovery! Clean up and restoration are well underway as Nancy and crew are working to get the shop back up and running just as quickly as possible.  Please keep Nancy in your thoughts and prayers.

Vintage Halloween

Do you like vintage?  I have a passions for all things vintage, and love to scout thrift stores and garage sales for little bits of unexpected treasures from the past.  So when I came upon a stamp set by Artistic Outpost called Vintage Halloween I began to swoon.  The images are sweet and soft and remind me of old storybooks from my childhood.

Artistic Outpost's Ephemeral Backgrounds was the perfect set to use as a backdrop for this set of cards.

My dad has called me "pumpkin" as long as I can remember making this sentiment extra special to me.

Join me this Friday afternoon, October 21, at 2:00 pm at  The Hen House Paperie for a fun afternoon when I will be repeating this popular class. We will make these three cards using Distress Inks, foam applicators, finger daubers, Stickles, and other fun touches for that vintage look.

I hope to see you there!!

Cards for the Hen House Paperie Class

What a month it has been for us!!

Maggie turned 21 on the 16th!!  Tonight she is having some of her nursing student friends over for fun here at the house.  She is such a blessing and a lovely woman!!!  And in a year?......she will be one of Albuquerque's newest R.N.s.  I can promise you she will be a great one!!

John has begun grad school and work at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, and David has made his move to Dallas, Texas to begin school at the University of Texas in Dallas.  He is studying International Business there.

How about some cards.............!

This Saturday afternoon I will be teaching a class where we will use one Unity stamp set to make three fun cards.  Each card will use a different technique on it.

Class will be from 3-5pm this Saturday at the Hen House Paperie.  I hope to see you there!!
