Classes

When it comes to sympathy cards, I don't know anyone who actually enjoys making them.  I never have one made in my stash of cards and decided to change that.  This Hero Arts stamp set has wonderful sentiments and  beautiful flowers in it.

So Saturday afternoon, we are going to make this set of sympathy cards together.  I think it will be easier to make them with friends, and know you will have three cards on hand.  I will bring lots of sentiments to pick and choose from, including this Hero Arts set. These are designs and images that you will be able to use on other cards also.  If you don't want to make sympathy cards, you can easily change out the sentiments for any occasion! There will be plenty of ideas to choose from to meet your needs.

Class will be at China Phoenix 2 this coming Saturday from 1:00-3:00 in the afternoon. As always the machine stitching on the cards will be optional....but is really fun!  You can call Nancy to sign up at 884-8217. I look forward to spending a fun afternoon with you at the shop!!

Now for other news.....!

Thursday marks a new adventure for me as I begin teaching Basic Grey's Lay Out of the Month at Scraps Galore!!  Classes are the 4th Thursday evening of each month from 6:00-8:00pm. My first class will be Thursday evening and I can't wait to scrap with you!!  We'll be using fun papers from the What's Up line, and you will have plenty of leftover product to either make another LO or two or a handful of greeting cards.

I know the photography is all wonky, but it gives you an idea of what we'll be doing.
These papers and embellishments are so much prettier and brighter in real life!!  Fun stuff!  Hope I get to see you Thursday evening.

Thank you for hanging on through this very long post!  I hope to post again in the next day or two about family and the big surprise I got last Wednesday!!

Faux Stitching

If you've ever taken one of my classes at either China Phoenix 2 or the Hen House Paperie, you know that I LOVE to use the sewing machine on my cards.  It makes me crazy giddy.  Maybe it's because unlike dress making, stitching on cards doesn't need to be precise or have perfectly turned corners!  The trend right now if for messy stitching, so imagine my glee when I saw this Hero Arts stamp set.  I knew I had to use it in a class for those who like the look of machine stitching on their cards, but really do not enjoy using the sewing machine...or even have one!  Even better??  You can stamp the frame and still take it to the sewing machine!!  And that is exactly what we will do in class Sturdy morning.  You will get to either just stamp these frames, OR stamp them AND stitch them!!  Can it get any better?
As if that wasn't great enough, we will use several techniques for the flowers which are part of this stamp set also.  We will use our Copics on two cards, and paper piece the others....or you can do whatever you prefer on your set of cards.
I think this set of cards would make a great gift set or be a nice addition to your stash of cards to grab from when needed.

Class will be at China Phoenix 2 This Saturday from 10:00 -12:00.  To sign up, you can call Nancy at 884-8217 or email me at krosecrans@comcast.net
Hope to see you Saturday!!

Now for some personal news:

A few days ago I was working on making sure my table calendar and my portable calendar were all in sync, transferring class dates to my table calendar, making sure nothing was being overlooked.  As I turned the page the end of May, I got a huge suprise!!  What did that say up there?  What???

It was Maggie's handwriting.....and she wouldn't have written in my book if it weren't true..........I was going to Minnesota to visit my parents!!  They live in Prior Lake, and I haven't seen them since they were here visiting during our great blizzard of December 2006!! I am SOOOOOO excited!!  Thank you kids!! I can't wait to go Fasser, fasser, UP!! ......I love to fly

Thank you for hanging in with me for this very long post!
